VST Plugins for Your Aural Pleasure: Glitch

Glitch Effects:
If you are into the world of creating digital music with programs such as Ableton Live, Steinberg Cubase, Nuendo, Cakewalk, Garage Band etc., etc. it's no doubt that you are aware of the powerful virtual tools and instruments know as VST's and VSTi's.
VST is an acronym for Virtual Studio Technology. Wiki Page Here I have compiled some of my favorite free VST's that I have collected over years and would like to share with you. I hope you use them wisely and to their greatest capability because the possibilities are truly endless! Enjoy! PDF Manual Illformed.org Glitch chops up your audio in real-time and applies a variety of effects which can either be chosen at random, manually sequenced, or a mixture of both. The sounds it generates range from quite subtle to extremely bizarre, depending on how much you tweak the controls. ________________________________________________ Illformed.org Based on the stretcher effect found in Glitch, but with a few extra parameters and a wider range of functionality. (There is no real GUI for this one so I just took a screen shot) ________________________________________________ Illformed.org Very simple “tape stop” effect with adjustable speed. (There is no real GUI for this one so I just took a screen shot) ________________________________________________
http://www.arcanedevice.com/ A buffer-sampling, stuttering glitchbox in the tradition of DFX's Buffer override. It features integrated modulation LFOs, XY pad and a useless-but-cool-looking wave scope. ________________________________________________
  • arcDev.Hosebeast.v1.0
http://www.arcanedevice.com/ The mother of glitch-noise-monsters, HBeast is a 5-part parallel processing speaker-endangering multicrapfx shredder. Features assorted colours, (almost) too-hard-to-read gui and bad attitude.

The Lost Art of Making a Full Album.

What ever happened to the days gone by when people made a true "complete" work that REALLY meant something!? What happened to the love of the craft? Have we really become that far removed from making music so full and enlightening as 12 or so consecutive tracks that are true works of art to be proud of? Perhaps artists and producers of today are more focused and interested in the cash. Viable excuse I suppose. It's still no excuse for slacking on full works as opposed the 2 or 3 "hits" per album and forcing your fan base to sift through some of the garbage that has been put out.

"Only sick music makes money today." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

For those of you out there who are jonesing for refreshment here are some gems. Listed here are a few albums, that in my humble opinion, have magical qualities and leave you weeping for more.

If you like them fantastic! If not, I suppose that's OK too. If you haven't heard them, give them a chance at least. Don't be afraid of the unknown. It's got so much potential, mystery, imagination and most of all intrigue. So dig the tunes and be happy.

Scores of Electronica Soundtracks

Overall I would have to say that if I had to choose a favorite musical genre, it would be electronica. Electronica spans broadly from bands that use synthesizers and drum machines to DJ's who spin records and everything in between. It is versatile and endlessly interesting to me. I know that there are many out there who dislike it because they feel drum machines have no soul or that it's too repetitive. I guess I can respect that opinion because it's theirs, but I'll fight you to the death about it and tell you to open your narrow ass mind. But I digress. Here is an extensive list of electronica based soundtracks that I am particularity fond of and have in my collection. I hope you dig them. _______________________________________________ In no particular order:
